OVERVIEW
My husband and i decided to get our baby girl, Isabella, baptized on august 27, 2011. We picked a small little church for her Baptism. It was such a nice little ceremony with our family and a few family friends. Right after the baptism at church, the guests were invited for a small luncheon.
Bella's baptism luncheon was when i got into party planning, and was my first attempt at putting up a dessert table. The luncheon was only for less than 100 guests, and the turnout was pretty great. I didn't have a specific theme for this celebration. Although, I wanted to carry a color scheme of light pink and light green throughout the luncheon, wanting it to feel light and pure. The most beautiful part of the baptism was of course, our sweet little bella coming into the Christian world!
FOOD, DECOR, AND FAVORS
I made a floral initial of the letter "B", made of pink roses, which was the first thing that the guests see as they walked into the luncheon area. My husband also put up a huge canvas picture of the celebrant at the guest table. The tables were covered with white linens, and we had pink and white balloons attached to a little white lamp, with pink orchids and tulle pompoms serving as a centerpiece for each table.
The main food table was home to a number of filipino dishes, including lechon, pancit, beef steak and so much more. We also had a small dessert table, it being a very small celebration and all. It included a variety of light pink candies in apothecary jars, the two tier cake, cake pops, and everyone's favorite at the party, the mostachons. The color scheme of pink and green were furthermore incorporated into the banner, and the dessert labels.
The guests took home little angel crystals for favor and to remember such a special day in Bella's life.
